Ravens Release QB Austin Reed, Restructure Nnamdi Madubuike's Deal After Brissett Trade
Baltimore cleared $8.66 million in cap space to fit Jacoby Brissett and cut a quarterback it signed earlier in the week
The Ravens cleaned up their roster after landing Jacoby Brissett. Baltimore released quarterback Austin Reed, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Saturday, and it also restructured defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike's contract to make the trade work, as NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported.

Per Pelissero, the Ravens converted most of Madubuike's remaining base salary into a signing bonus, clearing $8.66 million in 2026 cap space. That gives them room for Brissett and some breathing room for the rest of the season.
Reed's release is the expected follow-up. Baltimore signed him to the practice squad on Nov. 2 as emergency depth after Lamar Jackson went to injured reserve following thumb surgery and Tyler Huntley suffered a season-ending turf toe injury. The next day, the Ravens added Kedon Slovis off the Packers' practice squad. With Brissett now in the building, there's no longer a spot for Reed.
That leaves Brissett, undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano and Slovis in the quarterback room. Fagnano started Thursday's 33-10 loss to Jacksonville, the Ravens' third straight defeat by at least 20 points, which dropped them to 4-5. Brissett, who arrived in a trade with Arizona, is expected to take over as the starter. He started eight games for the Cardinals before losing his job there.
The Ravens are off until Monday night, Nov. 16, when they host the 0-7 Chargers.
