Eagles Rule Out DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks for Sunday vs. Giants
DeVonta Smith (hamstring) and Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) are out for Philadelphia's Week 9 home game against the NFC East-leading Giants
The Philadelphia Eagles will be without both DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks on Sunday when the New York Giants visit Lincoln Financial Field, Adam Schefter reported Friday.
Smith is out with a hamstring injury and Wicks is out with an ankle injury, per the team's Friday injury report. Smith has been limited to four games this season and still leads the Eagles with 26 catches for 310 yards and two touchdowns on 41 targets. Wicks has 19 receptions for 284 yards and a score on 31 targets across six games, giving the offense a vertical option opposite Smith.

Losing both at once leaves a thin wideout group for a club that is already 2-6 and riding a six-game skid. With Jalen Hurts still recovering from blood clots and Joe Milton set to start at quarterback, Philadelphia will lean on whoever is healthy among the remaining receivers — Elijah Moore practiced fully Friday after being listed with a neck issue — plus tight end Dallas Goedert, who was a full participant.
The Giants arrive at 4-2-1 and first in the NFC East, making this a must-have home game for a Philadelphia team that has dropped every contest since September. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET at the Linc.
