Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter): Falcons ruled out RB Brian Robinson Jr. for Sunday’s game in Madrid against the Bengals due to a hamstring injury.
Robinson had been listed as questionable after limited practices midweek before Atlanta flipped him to out. The fifth-year back, originally a third-round pick by Washington in 2022, has been Atlanta's primary complement to Bijan Robinson this season: 53 carries for 211 yards (4.0 per carry) and four rushing touchdowns, plus five catches for 30 yards. Four of those scores have come over his last five games.
Bijan Robinson remains the clear lead back. He has 150 carries for 780 yards (5.2 per carry) and four rushing touchdowns this season, and he will shoulder even more of the early-down and goal-line work with Brian Robinson unavailable. The Falcons (3-5) are coming off a 16-0 loss to the Buccaneers in which Tampa Bay ran for 324 yards, and they already ruled out WR Zachariah Branch for Madrid with his own hamstring issue.
Kickoff against Cincinnati at Santiago Bernabéu is Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET on NFL Network — an early start that leaves little margin if Atlanta's run game is short-handed again.
