Panthers Sign CB Jakorian Bennett to Practice Squad
Carolina adds the former Raiders and Eagles corner one day after he visited, following his waiver from Philadelphia's injured-reserve practice window
The Panthers have signed cornerback Jakorian Bennett to the practice squad, Ian Rapoport reported Friday.
Bennett visited Carolina a day after clearing waivers, and the Panthers moved quickly to add him. The Eagles had waived him from injured reserve when his practice window closed earlier this week, ending a short stint in Philadelphia after he began his career with the Las Vegas Raiders.

A 2023 fourth-round pick (No. 104 overall) out of Maryland, Bennett is in his fourth NFL season. He has not recorded defensive stats in 2026 while dealing with the injury that landed him on IR, so Carolina is betting on the tape and traits that got him drafted — size and speed on the outside — more than recent production. Practice-squad deals give teams a low-risk look; Bennett can be elevated for game days if the Panthers need secondary depth, or signed to the 53-man roster if he earns it.
Carolina is 3-4 and hosts the Denver Broncos on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET. The secondary addition fits a club that brought back DeAngelo Hall as cornerbacks coach after firing defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, and is still sorting its depth chart after a midseason coaching change on that side of the ball.
