Eagles Bench Tanner McKee, Turn to Joe Milton vs. Giants
Philadelphia makes a quarterback change after six straight losses, two days after Nick Sirianni said McKee was 'our guy.'
The Eagles are making a quarterback change. Joe Milton III will start Sunday against the Giants, and Tanner McKee heads to the bench after three starts, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Wednesday.
It's a quick reversal. On Monday, Nick Sirianni said he wasn't making changes at quarterback or offensive coordinator, telling reporters "Tanner's our guy." Two days later, McKee is out of the lineup after going 0-3 as the starter.

Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter): Joe Milton will be the fourth different Eagles' QB to throw a pass this season: Jalen Hurts (blood clots) Andy Dalton (released) Tanner McKee (0-3 as starter) Joe Milton Philly is 2-6 and has lost six straight.
Milton has been in Philadelphia less than a month. The Eagles signed him off the Cowboys' practice squad on Oct. 16 as Jalen Hurts went down with a blood clot, and Hurts is now expected to miss the rest of the season after clots were found in his lungs. Andy Dalton has since been released, which makes Milton the fourth different Eagles quarterback to throw a pass this season.
His NFL résumé is thin. Milton's only extended regular-season action came in Week 18 of the 2024 season with New England against Buffalo, when he went 22-of-29 for 241 yards with a passing touchdown, a rushing touchdown, no interceptions and a 111.4 passer rating. The big-armed former Tennessee quarterback has spent most of his career as a developmental backup.
The Eagles need something. They're 2-6 and have lost six straight, their longest skid since 2012, after the 27-10 loss to Washington on Sunday night. Since a 2-0 start they've averaged 14.8 points per game and haven't topped 21 points in any of the six losses. The NFC East-rival Giants are next, on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.
