Ravens Sign QB Kedon Slovis Off Packers' Practice Squad Ahead of Thursday Night

With Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley out and Joe Fagnano banged up, Baltimore adds a third quarterback option for the Jaguars

The Ravens are adding another quarterback for Thursday night. Baltimore is signing Kedon Slovis to its 53-man roster off the Packers' practice squad, Tom Pelissero reported Tuesday morning.

Slovis joins Joe Fagnano and Austin Reed as Baltimore's options against the Jaguars. It's a move made out of necessity. Lamar Jackson is headed to injured reserve after thumb surgery, Tyler Huntley is out for the foreseeable future with a toe injury, and Fagnano, the undrafted rookie in line to start, is dealing with an ankle injury that had him limited on Monday's projected practice report. Coach Jesse Minter said the team still expects Fagnano to have a chance to play.

Reed, signed to the practice squad Monday, would need an elevation to suit up. Slovis gives Baltimore a quarterback already on the active roster if Fagnano can't go or needs relief.

There's familiarity, too. Slovis played under Ravens quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork in Arizona, and The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec noted that Ravens receivers coach Keary Colbert was with him at USC. Zrebiec also reported the Ravens worked out free-agent quarterback Adrian Martinez, the 2024 UFL MVP, on Tuesday morning before going with Slovis. Slovis threw two regular-season passes for the Cardinals in 2025.

Fagnano played 40 snaps in Sunday's 36-10 loss in Buffalo, when Baltimore managed just 68 net passing yards. The 4-4 Ravens host the 5-2 Jaguars on Thursday at 5:15 p.m. PT on a short week, with two practices to get Slovis ready.
