Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet): The #Rams have now officially activated star OLB Myles Garrett from Injured Reserve.
The move completes a return that has been building all week. Garrett practiced throughout the week and was on track for activation after the Rams opened his 21-day window earlier this month. He landed on IR following arthroscopic knee surgery after Week 1 and has missed nearly two full months while Los Angeles managed the edge without him.
A healthy Garrett changes the math for a Rams defense that has been piecing together its pass rush without its best edge rusher. The nine-year veteran entered the year with 125.5 career sacks and was acquired to anchor the front; getting him back opposite a Commanders line that is still integrating Johnny Newton off IR is a major Week 9 swing for both sides.
Los Angeles (4-4) visits Washington (2-4-1) on Sunday. Official activation locks in what the practice reports had already signaled: Garrett is available, and the Rams get their top pass rusher back with nine games left in the regular season and the NFC West still within reach.
