Eagles Place RB Dameon Pierce on IR, Promote Jaydon Blue to Active Roster
Philadelphia loses another running back, leaving Saquon Barkley's health as the backfield's biggest question before Sunday night in Washington
The Eagles' running back room took another hit Wednesday. Philadelphia placed Dameon Pierce on injured reserve, which will cost him at least four games, and signed Jaydon Blue to the active roster.

Philadelphia Eagles (@Eagles): We have signed RB Jaydon Blue to the active roster. We have also signed G Evan Beerntsen, WR Quentin Skinner, and DB Shaun Wade to the practice squad. We have placed RB Dameon Pierce on the Injured Reserve List.
Pierce left Monday night's 38-21 loss to the Cowboys in the fourth quarter with an undisclosed injury. He had become a regular part of the rotation since the Eagles promoted him to the 53-man roster in early October, with 37 carries for 96 yards and two touchdowns this season, plus seven catches for 14 yards.
He's the fourth Eagles running back on injured reserve. Will Shipley (plantar fascia), Tank Bigsby (core muscle surgery) and Carson Steele (shoulder) are already there. That leaves Saquon Barkley, who tweaked his back Monday in his first game back from a hamstring injury, and Elijah Mitchell, who signed to the practice squad last week and handled the work after Pierce went down.
Blue's path back has been a quick one. Philadelphia waived him Oct. 20, re-signed him to the practice squad two days later and now has him back on the 53-man roster. The Eagles also signed guard Evan Beerntsen, receiver Quentin Skinner and defensive back Shaun Wade to the practice squad.
Barkley's status is the one that matters most. Philadelphia is 2-5, already without Jalen Hurts for the season, and visits the Commanders on Sunday night.
