Cardinals Bring Back WR Zay Jones on Practice Squad

Arizona turns to a familiar veteran after losing Jalen Brooks for the season

The Cardinals have signed veteran wide receiver Zay Jones to their practice squad, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Wednesday.

It's a reunion. Jones, 31, played for Arizona in 2024 and 2025, and his 2025 season ended with a torn Achilles. He was in camp with the Texans this summer but was released at final cuts and had been unsigned since. He was one of four receivers the Cardinals worked out Tuesday.

Arizona needed bodies at the position. Marvin Harrison Jr. was traded to the Texans on Oct. 11, and Jalen Brooks, who had moved into Harrison's role, is out for the season after wrist surgery. The Cardinals promoted offensive lineman Kingsley Eguakun to the active roster to fill Brooks' spot, which opened the practice squad spot for Jones, per the team. Arizona can elevate him for Sunday's game if needed.
