Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet): From @BigDayESPN: #Ravens QB Lamar Jackson is expected to return to the field this week. That, plus a little more on his fun press conference.
"I expect, based on the people I've spoken with, that Lamar Jackson will play this week," Rapoport said on ESPN's Big Day. "This was a two-to-three week injury, he is through the third week. He is believed to be as close to 100% as he has been, and the Ravens do expect him to play."
Jackson has missed three straight games with a high ankle sprain. He looked set to return last week after practicing on a limited basis, but Baltimore ruled him out a day after listing him as questionable, and Tyler "Snoop" Huntley started a 35-13 loss to the Bengals. Rapoport said he doesn't believe that decision shocked the Ravens. Jackson wasn't 100%, and with a Thursday night game following the Bills trip, the team and Jackson agreed not to risk a setback.
Coach Jesse Minter said Monday Jackson should be "in a decent spot" and that the team would know more Wednesday. Baltimore has slipped to 4-3 and last in the AFC North after back-to-back losses, scoring 11.5 points per game over those two games, so getting its two-time MVP back is the difference-maker the offense badly needs.
