Joseph hasn't played since Oct. 12, 2025, against the Chiefs. A cartilage issue in his knee limited him to six games last season, though he still had three interceptions, and he went on injured reserve in December. In 2024 he led the NFL with nine interceptions and was a first-team All-Pro.
Dan Campbell, who said last week he expected Joseph to play this season, said the team will ramp him up gradually.
Campbell said Joseph will start with individual work and progress into more team work late this week and early next week, so he isn't expected to be ready for Sunday's game against the Vikings.
When he is ready, Detroit gets him back alongside Brian Branch, who returned from the PUP list last week and had an interception in his season debut against the Packers.
