Dolphins, Not Ravens, Land Guard Christian Haynes on Waivers
Baltimore announced it had claimed the former Seahawks guard, but Miami's higher waiver priority won out
Guard Christian Haynes is headed to Miami after a waiver-wire mix-up. The Ravens announced Wednesday that they had claimed the former Seahawks guard, but the Dolphins also put in a claim and held higher priority, so they were awarded Haynes, Adam Schefter reported.

Waiver priority at this point of the season follows the standings, with the worst record first. That favored Miami, which is 1-5 and last in the AFC East, over Baltimore at 4-3.
The Dolphins made room by waiving guard DJ Campbell, a rookie sixth-round pick this year, so the move swaps one young interior lineman for another with more experience.
Haynes became available because of the Quenton Nelson trade. Seattle waived him to clear a roster spot after acquiring the All-Pro guard from the Colts. The Seahawks took Haynes in the third round of the 2024 draft out of UConn, and Nelson's arrival left him without a clear place on their line.
For Miami, Haynes is a 2024 draft pick still on his rookie contract, which makes him a low-cost addition who can be developed beyond this season. The Ravens, who had announced the claim before it went through, come away empty-handed and keep their current guard group.
The Dolphins host the Patriots on Sunday, while the Ravens visit the Bills.
