Saints Open Rookie WR Jordyn Tyson's Practice Window
The No. 8 overall pick returns to practice Wednesday after missing all seven games with a hamstring injury
The Saints' first-round pick is finally back on the practice field. New Orleans designated rookie receiver Jordyn Tyson to return from injured reserve Wednesday, and he is practicing today, according to Nick Underhill.
Designating Tyson opens his 21-day practice window. The Saints can add him to the 53-man roster at any point in that stretch, and if they don't, he reverts to IR for the rest of the season. That outcome looks unlikely: Tyson could return as early as this week against the Browns.

New Orleans drafted Tyson out of Arizona State with the No. 8 overall pick in April. He hurt his hamstring in August, aggravated it, and went on injured reserve before the opener. He hasn't taken a regular-season snap, and the absence stretched well past the four-game minimum. Given that history, expect the Saints to be careful with his workload as they ramp him up.
The offense needs him. Chris Olave has carried the passing game with 49 catches for 636 yards and two touchdowns in seven games, and the rest of the room is Devaughn Vele, Cedric Tillman and fellow rookie Barion Brown. The Saints have also struggled to run the ball, which led Kellen Moore to fire run game coordinator T.J. Paganetti during the bye.
New Orleans is 2-5 and in last place in the NFC South. The Saints host the Browns on Sunday, Nov. 8, at 10 a.m. PT, with Cleveland possibly turning to Shedeur Sanders while Deshaun Watson is in the concussion protocol.
