Vikings QB Kyler Murray Has Sore Hamstring, Status for Bills Game Unclear
Kevin O'Connell said Murray is getting a full evaluation after looking limited late in Minnesota's first loss of the season
The Vikings have a quarterback question heading into a marquee Monday night game. Kevin O'Connell said Monday that Kyler Murray is dealing with a sore hamstring and will get a full evaluation after looking limited at the end of Sunday's 19-15 loss in Detroit.
O'Connell didn't rule anything in or out for next week, The Athletic's Alec Lewis reported.
Asked whether Murray would start against the Bills if he's able to play, O'Connell said, "Yes."
Murray went 17-of-29 for 210 yards with two touchdowns and an interception Sunday, and he was sacked three times in Minnesota's first loss of the season. On the year he's completed 64.9% of his passes for 1,022 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions, and he's added 167 rushing yards. He also spent time in the concussion protocol in September.

Alec Lewis (@alec_lewis): Vikings HC Kevin O'Connell said "I don't think we're there yet" on whether or not Kyler Murray's hamstring would affect his availability for Monday night against the Bills.
If the hamstring keeps him out, Carson Wentz is next on the depth chart, with Max Brosmer also on the roster. Murray's mobility is a big part of what he brings, so even if he plays, a sore hamstring could limit how much he can extend plays against a good Buffalo defense.
There's another concern on offense. O'Connell said left tackle Christian Darrisaw came in Monday with shoulder soreness.
The 6-1 Vikings still lead the NFC North and get extra time to sort it out. They host the 6-1 Bills on Monday, Nov. 9, at 5:15 p.m. PT, so the first practice report won't come until Thursday.
