Lamar Jackson's return lasted one snap. The Ravens quarterback hurt his right thumb on Baltimore's first offensive play Sunday in Buffalo, went straight to the locker room and has been ruled out for the rest of the game against the Bills.

The Ravens first listed Jackson as questionable to return with the right thumb injury, then announced a few minutes later that he is out. Tyler "Snoop" Huntley came in for him. It's the throwing hand, so the bigger question now is how long this one keeps him out. The team hasn't given any word on that yet.
The timing is brutal. Jackson had just missed three straight games with a high ankle sprain, and on Friday coach Jesse Minter confirmed he would start in Buffalo after a full week of practice. He carried no injury designation into the game. Now Baltimore is back to its backup plan, one play in.
Huntley already knows the role. He started the last three games in Jackson's place, including last week's 35-13 loss to the Bengals. The Ravens came into Sunday at 4-3, last in the AFC North after two straight losses in which they scored 11.5 points per game. Huntley now has to finish a road game against the Bills with that offense.
The schedule doesn't give Baltimore much room either. After Buffalo, the Ravens host the Jaguars on Thursday night, so a thumb injury to the starter comes right before a short week. Any update on Jackson's status for Jacksonville will likely come after the game.
