Packers Put Center Jacob Monk on IR, Sign Mekhi Becton to Active Roster
With Sean Rhyan and Jacob Monk both out, Green Bay is down to its third-string center for Thursday night at Carolina
The Packers placed center Jacob Monk on injured reserve Monday with a quad injury and signed offensive lineman Mekhi Becton to the active roster from the practice squad. "On to the third-string center for the #Packers," NFL Network's Ian Rapoport wrote.

Monk replaced starter Sean Rhyan in the first quarter of Sunday's loss to the Lions, then went down himself. That left John Williams snapping by the ninth play of the game. Rhyan is believed to have a high-ankle sprain, an injury that often costs four to six weeks, and IR means Monk is out at least four games.
The short week makes it tougher. Green Bay plays at Carolina on Thursday night, and Williams is now in line to start at center.
