Michael Signora (@NFLfootballinfo): Hearing officer James Thrash, jointly appointed by the NFL and the NFLPA, has reduced the discipline of Sam Franklin from a one-game suspension to a fine of $14,926 for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Hearing officer James Thrash made the decision. He was jointly appointed by the NFL and NFL Players Association, according to the notice. Franklin will pay the fine instead of serving the one-game suspension under the revised discipline.
The news is helpful for the Bills' secondary, which is already short-handed after CJ Gardner-Johnson was suspended during the same game against the Raiders.
