Mike Kaye (@mike_e_kaye): Taylor Moton is downgraded to OUT with an ankle/fibula injury.
Carolina first called it an ankle injury and listed Moton as questionable to return before downgrading him to out. When a team names the bone, it's usually bad news, and he expects this to be a long-term injury.
It's a cruel turn for Moton, who only just got back on the field. He missed the offseason and the first five weeks after developing blood clots in his lungs, then was activated from injured reserve to make his 2026 debut against the Eagles.
The timing is rough, too. Carolina is on a short week and plays at Green Bay on Thursday night, so the Panthers will have little time to sort out right tackle if Moton's injury is as serious as it looks.
