Eagles Rule Out DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks for Monday Night vs. Cowboys

Philadelphia will be without two of its receivers against Dallas, while Saquon Barkley is questionable but expected to play after a full practice

The Eagles ruled out wide receiver DeVonta Smith for Monday night's game against the Cowboys, per multiple reports Saturday. Fellow receiver Dontayvion Wicks is out too.

According to NBC Sports Philadelphia's Dave Zangaro, Smith is dealing with a hamstring injury and Wicks with an ankle injury. Outside linebacker Nolan Smith (concussion) and defensive back Michael Carter (abdomen) are also out. Neither receiver practiced Saturday.

There's better news in the backfield. Saquon Barkley is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury, but he got in a full practice, and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported he's expected to play. Tight end Dallas Goedert has no designation after returning to practice.

Philadelphia is already playing without Jalen Hurts, who is expected to miss the rest of the season after blood clots were found in his lungs. Taking Smith and Wicks away from that offense leaves it leaning hard on Barkley and Goedert.

Dallas is getting healthier. George Pickens, who was limited with a shoulder injury earlier in the week, is off the injury report and good to go.

What to watch: how much work Barkley gets in his return, and which receivers pick up Smith's targets with both him and Wicks sidelined.
