Bears CB Malik Muhammad doubtful to return against Patriots with toe injury

Chicago Bears cornerback Malik Muhammad II was listed as doubtful to return Thursday night against the New England Patriots because of a toe injury, according to Adam Jahns.

The designation came during the game. Chicago is not expecting him back for the remaining action, though it is not a ruling on his availability beyond Thursday night.

Muhammad's absence affects the Bears' defensive backfield for the rest of the matchup. The source does not establish a more specific diagnosis or a timetable for a subsequent game. Chicago's next update will clarify whether the toe problem persists beyond Thursday.
