Jeremy Fowler (@JFowlerESPN): Multiple league execs believe Jacksonville will seriously consider trading Brian Thomas Jr. at the deadline now that his role has decreased
Thomas, a 2024 first-round pick, broke out as a rookie and was supposed to be a centerpiece of Jacksonville's passing game. A shrinking role in his third season changes that picture, and a young receiver on a rookie contract would draw real interest from contenders shopping for help.
Nothing is imminent, and Fowler's report reflects how executives around the league read the situation rather than an active shopping effort. The Jaguars are also dealing with the loss of starting left tackle Anton Harrison, who is out for the season with a torn ACL, and could be looking for help in that department. Expect Jacksonville to be active.
What to watch: whether Thomas' snaps and targets keep dropping coming out of the bye, and whether any receiver-needy team gets serious before Nov. 10.
