Kirk Herbstreit, Amazon agree to multiyear Thursday Night Football extension

Kirk Herbstreit and Amazon have agreed to a multiyear extension to remain on Thursday Night Football, solidifying one of the league's marquee broadcast pairings.

The deal includes flexibility for Amazon if a top target such as Rams head coach Sean McVay becomes available, per Andrew Marchand. Amazon previously pursued McVay for its broadcast booth back in 2022.

The extension locks in Herbstreit's continued role alongside Al Michaels on TNF, giving the streaming partner stability in its flagship NFL broadcast. The McVay flexibility clause is notable, keeping the door open for Amazon to make a run at one of the league's biggest coaching names should he ever step away from the sideline.
