Patriots' TreVeyon Henderson set for bigger Wednesday workload

Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson is set for an increased Wednesday workload as he recovers from the ankle injury that cost him Week 1

New England's young backfield piece is trending the right way. Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson will take on an increased practice workload Wednesday as he continues his recovery from the ankle injury that kept him out of the Week 1 loss to Seattle.

Henderson was limited in Monday's session, so a bigger Wednesday would mark two straight steps forward for the second-year back. "We'll continue to evaluate that and see where he is, and hopefully that continues to trend in the right direction," head coach Mike Vrabel said. The former second-round pick produced 1,132 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns as a rookie last season, and his availability would be a timely boost with Pittsburgh coming to town. The Patriots' first official injury report of the week lands later Wednesday, which should bring more clarity on whether Henderson is tracking toward a Week 2 return.
