The Colts downgraded wide receiver Keenan Allen to out for Sunday's game against the Commanders in London because of a groin injury.
Indianapolis beat reporter Mike Chappell reports the downgrade and that Nick Westbrook-Ikhine was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster.
Mike Chappell (@mchappell51): Colts downgrade WR Keenan Allen (groin) to out vs Commanders. Elevate Nick Westbrook-Ikhine to active roster from PS.
The move gives the Colts another receiver available for the international matchup, but does not replace Allen's experience in the passing game.
Allen's late change removes him from the game plan after Indianapolis had carried him on the injury report. The London setting also means the team has to finalize its receiving rotation before traveling into Sunday's kickoff.
Westbrook-Ikhine's elevation adds depth for the week; the Colts will need the rest of the receiver group to absorb Allen's work against Washington. The source reports did not specify a timetable for Allen's return beyond Sunday's game.
