The Seahawks reportedly placed first-round running back Jadarian Price on injured reserve after he aggravated a chest injury in practice, Price will miss at least four weeks.
Seattle's injury decision follows a midweek setback. Seahawks reporter Gregg Bell previously reported that Price aggravated the chest/shoulder area during Wednesday's practice and would miss Sunday's game against the Chargers.
Gregg Bell (@Gbellseattle): Coach Mike Macdonald says Jadarian Price aggravated his chest/shoulder in practice Wednesday. That’s why he is out for #Seahawks Sunday vs the Chargers. Expect Emanuel Wilson, George Holani and Velus Jones Jr. (up from the practice squad)
Bell also identified Emanuel Wilson and George Holani as running-back options, with Velus Jones Jr. coming up from the practice squad for the game. The IR move now turns that short-term absence into a multiweek roster vacancy.
Price's placement means he cannot return before serving the required four-game absence. The Seahawks will have to manage their running-back workload with the available group while the rookie recovers.
