Jones is out a minimum of four weeks. The injury is a significant blow to a Bears offensive line that has been protecting quarterback Caleb Williams, who is himself expected to be out Sunday with the team turning to Tyson Bagent under center.
With Jones sidelined, the Bears are expected to turn to Theo Benedet at left tackle for Sunday's game against the New York Jets. Benedet, who has been developing behind Jones, now steps into a starting role against a Jets front that has been disruptive this season.
The timing is tricky for Chicago, which is already managing a quarterback change and now reshuffles its offensive front. The Bears will need the reshaped line to hold up against a New York pass rush that has generated consistent pressure, giving Bagent a chance to operate in his first start of the season.
