The NFL fined Tennessee Titans defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers $12,537 for striking, kicking or kneeing Derrick Henry in the teams' Week 4 meeting.
Jonas Shaffer (@jonas_shaffer): Ravens ILB Trenton Simpson was fined $17,911 for unnecessary roughness on a horse-collar tackle in the second quarter. Titans DL John Franklin-Myers was fined $12,537 for unnecessary roughness for "striking/kicking/kneeing" Derrick Henry later in the second quarter.
The play came in the second quarter, and the fine is part of the same weekly discipline announcement that produced a season-high 10 player-safety fines. Franklin-Myers' infraction was assessed separately from that group, which the desk covered earlier Saturday.
Tennessee is 0-4 and hosts Houston on Sunday, with both AFC South teams desperate for a first win. Franklin-Myers is a veteran addition to a young Titans defensive line, and the fine adds a disciplinary note to a stretch already defined by a winless start and roster shuffling.
