Houston went through Wednesday's practice without one of its edge rushers and with its No. 1 receiver on a limited count. Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney sat out with a knee injury, while wide receiver Nico Collins was listed as a limited participant because of a hamstring.

Clowney had a sack and two quarterback hits in Houston's Week 1 loss to the Bills, and head coach DeMeco Ryans told reporters he expects the edge rusher back on the field Thursday. Collins being limited rather than absent is the softer of the two designations, but a hamstring is the kind of injury that gets managed rather than rushed, and the Texans have a full practice week to see how he responds.

Alongside Collins, defensive end Will Anderson was on the report as a rest day and got in a limited practice. Linebacker Jake Hummell (groin) and tight end Dalton Schultz (rest) were also out of the session, while right tackle Trent Brown (hand, wrist) and linebacker Wade Woodaz (thumb) were listed as full participants.
