Philadelphia's defense was down two starters at Wednesday's practice, three days after the Eagles' 24-22 win over the Commanders. Defensive tackle Jalen Carter (wrist) and defensive back Cooper DeJean (calf, abdomen) both sat out the session.
Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo): #Eagles DT Jalen Carter (wrist) and CB Cooper DeJean (calf/abdomen) sat out practice today. DeJean told reporters he’ll be good to go Sunday.
The snap counts from Week 1 make the absences stand out. DeJean has a rough outing in week 1 but played every defensive snap against Washington, and Carter missed only six. DeJean told reporters he believes he will be ready for Sunday's game against the Titans.
Linebacker Jonathan Greenard was the only other Philadelphia player on the injury report. Greenard returned to practice last week after missing all of training camp with a pectoral injury, but he did not play against the Commanders, and he said he plans to see how the practice week unfolds before making a call about this weekend.
