Zaire Franklin is one of the Green Bay Packers' five season-long captains for 2026, a quick arrival for a linebacker acquired via trade in March. Franklin wore a captain's patch with the Colts in each of the last six seasons.

Franklin joins four players who held captaincies for Green Bay in 2025: quarterback Jordan Love, tight end Tucker Kraft, safety Xavier McKinney and special-teamer Isaiah McDuffie. The group reflects a largely stable leadership core in Green Bay.
Notably absent are three of last year's captains. Rashan Gary and Quay Walker are no longer with the team, while running back Josh Jacobs is currently on the commissioner's exempt list amid an investigation into an accusation of violence against a woman, with a court appearance scheduled this week.
