The Ravens have settled on their starting center for the opener. Coach Jesse Minter announced Monday that Jovaughn Gwyn will handle the snapping against the Colts in Week 1, giving Gwyn the first regular-season start of his career.

Gwyn, who entered the league as a seventh-round pick of the Falcons in 2023 and spent three seasons in Atlanta before signing with Baltimore as a free agent this offseason, beat out veteran Ethan Pocic for the job. The competition opened when Danny Pinter, viewed as the early leader, tore his patellar tendon.
Minter made clear the decision is not set in stone, calling it a "Week 1 decision, not necessarily a permanent decision." Gwyn has repped extensively with the starters over the past couple of weeks, and the Ravens will open the season on the road in Indianapolis.
