The NFL is reviewing C.J. Gardner-Johnson's spitting incident for potential additional discipline beyond the ejection he drew during Buffalo's win over the Raiders, per Adam Schefter.
Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter): Any disqualification always is reviewed for potential additional discipline, and it is true here: the NFL is reviewing Bills safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson spitting at Raiders TE Brock Bowers for discipline.
Any disqualification is automatically subject to league review, and this one is getting a closer look.
Gardner-Johnson has already addressed the moment publicly. Schefter reported he apologized on Instagram after cameras caught him spitting at Raiders tight end Brock Bowers during Sunday's 33-30 victory in Las Vegas.
The Bills safety was ejected following the incident during the win in Las Vegas, and the standard review process could bring a fine or further punishment. Buffalo picked up a big road victory on Sunday, but Gardner-Johnson's availability could be impacted if the league decides additional discipline is warranted.
