Harbaugh mum on McDaniel as Chargers say offense must be addressed

The Los Angeles Chargers are fielding questions about offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel's future after falling to 0-6 with Sunday's 22-6 loss to the Chiefs. Head coach Jim Harbaugh did not discuss McDaniel's job status, saying instead that the team will need to address everything, and especially offensively.

The Chargers are averaging 15.0 points per game, and the offense managed just six points against Kansas City — the latest dud in a winless start that has made McDaniel a focus of external scrutiny. After the game, Harbaugh said Los Angeles would look at everything and that the offense needs to be addressed.

The situation is a striking turn for a staff that began the season with playoff expectations around Justin Herbert. With Los Angeles still searching for its first win at the season's midpoint, a change at offensive coordinator could be on the table if the struggles continue.
