Kenneth Walker has 665 rushing yards and 760 yards from scrimmage through six games, putting the Chiefs' star on pace to break the NFL single-season records in both categories. The reigning Super Bowl MVP, signed away from the Seahawks in free agency, has given Kansas City's ground game the kind of engine it has rarely had.

If Walker keeps up his rushing pace across a 17-game season, he would finish with 2,261 yards — well past Eric Dickerson's 2,105-yard mark, which was set in a 16-game season. At his current rate he would break that record in his 16th game. His yards-from-scrimmage pace projects to 2,584, clearing that all-time mark in the 17th game.

The Chiefs' unbeaten start has been built on a balanced attack, and Walker is the biggest reason the running game has been so effective. His numbers through six weeks put a legitimate pursuit of history on the table for the second half.
