Prosecutors in Oakland County, Michigan, decided against filing charges, effectively closing the police inquiry. Novi police said the investigation reviewed statements, photos, videos and communications between the alleged victim and Williams, and that the department and the prosecutor's office jointly concluded there is no cause to charge him.
Williams' lawyers said he "unequivocally denies the allegation of domestic violence," and credited the resolution to "extensive evidence directly relevant to the credibility, timing, and circumstances surrounding this allegation, which is baseless." The Lions acknowledged they were aware of the situation but declined further comment.
The legal chapter may not be fully closed — the alleged victim could pursue a civil suit, and the league could look into the matter independently if the accuser cooperates. For now, Williams remains focused on the season, where he has 10 catches for 127 yards in three games after a career-best 2025 that featured 65 receptions for 1,117 yards.
