DeVonta Smith is sidelined again this week for the Eagles, sitting out another practice with a hamstring issue, while linebacker Zack Baun remains in concussion protocol with three days until Philadelphia hosts the Rams. Smith played last week, but he is not sounding like he is legitimately questionable for Sunday's game.
Smith was a DNP for another practice Thursday, per Eagles beat writer Jeff McLane, who listed the receiver among the injured players not on the field. The hamstring has been a recurring concern for the Pro Bowl wideout, who was cleared to play in the Eagles' Monday night win over the Bears last week before this latest setback.
Baun, meanwhile, is still in the concussion protocol and was not practicing, according to McLane. The All-Pro linebacker's status is a significant one for a Philadelphia defense that has leaned on him as its defensive signal-caller and leading tackler.
Jeff McLane (@Jeff_McLane): Following injured #Eagles aren't here at practice: LB Zack Baun (concussion), TE Dallas Goedert (knee), T Fred Johnson (knee), WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring). Following are here but not practicing: WR Marquise Brown (ankle). Following are here and more practicing in some capacity: LB Jihaad Campbell (knee), DT Jordan Davis (calf), DT Moro Ojomo (calf/elbow), RB Tank Bigsby (abdomen), DT Jalen Carter (wrist), WR Darius Cooper (knee), OLB Jonathan Greenard (pectoral), RB Will Shipley (foot), DT Byron Young (toe).
The Eagles' Thursday walkthrough also had tight end Dallas Goedert (knee) and tackle Fred Johnson (knee) as DNPs, with wide receiver Marquise Brown (ankle) present but not practicing. Several others — including defensive tackle Jalen Carter (wrist) and outside linebacker Jonathan Greenard (pectoral) — were full participants, a positive sign for a defense bracing for the Rams' offense on Sunday.
