The NFL's September player of the month honors landed Thursday morning, rewarding the opening month's most impactful performers in both conferences.

Brock Purdy took NFC offensive honors after guiding the 49ers to a 3-0 start, completing 72.3 percent of his passes for 789 yards with a league-leading nine touchdowns, a 133.1 passer rating, and wins on two continents. Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker III claimed the AFC offensive award out of a strong September.

On defense, Greg Rousseau captured AFC distinction after a productive month that helped the Bills open 3-0, while Giants safety Jevon Holland earned the NFC nod behind 12 tackles, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and the game-sealing pick in Sunday's win over the Titans.

Special teams went to Bengals kicker Evan McPherson (AFC) and Vikings returner Myles Price (NFC), whose punt-return touchdown last week highlighted a standout month. The rookie awards went to Chiefs left tackle Kahlil Benson (offensive) — an undrafted free agent who seized the starting job and allowed just six pressures — and Titans linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. (defensive), whose 34 tackles lead the league after three weeks.
