For the third consecutive day, Lamar Jackson was not present at Ravens practice on Friday, confirming that Baltimore will likely be without its two-time MVP quarterback for Sunday's road game at Cleveland.
Jackson hasn't suited up since spraining his left ankle in the Ravens' Oct. 4 win over Tennessee. He missed all of practice this week — Wednesday, Thursday and Friday — and has been sidelined since that Oct. 4 game. ESPN Ravens beat writer Jamison Hensley reported Friday that Jackson's absence indicates Tyler Huntley will likely start, noting Huntley's strong track record as a fill-in.
Jamison Hensley (@jamisonhensley): Ravens QB Lamar Jackson is not present during media viewing portion of Friday's practice, which indicates Tyler Huntley will likely start for the second straight week. Jackson missed every practice this week and hasn't suited up since spraining his left ankle in a win over the Titans on Oct. 4. Huntley has won his last three starts as a fill-in starter for Jackson. In those three victories with Huntley, Baltimore has averaged 33.7 points.
Huntley has started three games in Jackson's place and Baltimore has won all three, averaging 33.7 points per game in those victories. The Ravens are 4-1 and face a Cleveland defense that has struggled for consistency this season.
If Huntley draws the start, it will be his fourth consecutive fill-in appearance with Jackson sidelined. The Ravens offense has maintained remarkably high efficiency with Huntley running the show, and Baltimore has Week 7 against the Vikings on deck regardless of who starts Sunday at 1:00 PM ET on FOX.
