The Jaguars are signing cornerback Alijah Huzzie to their 53-man roster, pulling him off the Texans' practice squad to shore up a banged-up secondary.
Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet): The #Jaguars are signing CB Alijah Huzzie to the 53-man roster off the #Texans practice squad.
Huzzie spent training camp with Houston before being waived at final roster cuts in late August and re-signed to the practice squad the next day. Jacksonville now brings him onto the active roster, giving the young corner a path to game-day reps.
The move arrives with the Jaguars' cornerback room thinned by injury — Christian Braswell (knee) and Montaric Brown (hamstring) are both dealing with ailments, leaving the back end short-handed. Huzzie, who has worked both outside and in the nickel, gives Jacksonville a versatile option as it looks to stabilize the secondary.
