ESPN is locking in its voice of the NFL for the long haul. The network has struck a six-year extension with Joe Buck worth roughly $108 million, pushing his annual pay to $18 million and his contract through 2032.

The numbers tell the story of the booth market. Buck's current deal pays $15 million a year; the new $18 million figure matches what partner Troy Aikman already earns — and all but guarantees Aikman will be looking for a raise past $20 million next. Notably, the deal runs beyond the expiration of ESPN's current NFL rights contract, with the NFL owning a small portion of the sports network and a contract that goes beyond the expiration of current rights all but guaranteeing the network will keep its broadcast rights.

The top broadcast team stays intact deep into the next decade, whatever the rights landscape looks like.
