The Buccaneers have placed wide receiver Jalen McMillan on injured reserve, sidelining him for a minimum of four games.
Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter): Buccaneers placed wide receiver Jalen McMillan on Injured Reserve, sidelining him for a minimum of four games. With Baker Mayfield out at least three weeks, they also signed quarterback Brett Rypien to their practice squad.
McMillan is dealing with a PCL injury that was already reported to keep him out six-to-eight weeks, so the IR placement was the expected formal step. With Baker Mayfield out at least three weeks, Tampa Bay also signed quarterback Brett Rypien to the practice squad to shore up the position.
The moves underscore how banged up the Buccaneers are offensively. McMillan's absence removes a key target from a receiving corps that will be led by undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels at quarterback in Mayfield's absence.
For Tampa Bay, the next several weeks look challenging as the team works through significant injuries on both sides of the ball.
