Ben Baby (@Ben_Baby): Bengals claim former Jags LB Jack Kiser on waivers and officially place Swayze Bozeman on IR. Kiser played for current Bengals DC Al Golden when Golden had the same title at Notre Dame.
Kiser, a 2025 fourth-round selection out of Notre Dame, spent his rookie season in Jacksonville working primarily on special teams and in rotational linebacker snaps. He arrives in Cincinnati with a direct link to a key voice in the locker room: defensive coordinator Al Golden held the same position at Notre Dame during Kiser's senior season, giving the second-year linebacker familiarity with the system from day one.
Bozeman's broken forearm had left the Bengals thin behind their starting linebackers, with no healthy LBs on the practice squad to draw from. Claiming Kiser off waivers became the quickest path to replenishing depth — a player who spent a full season in an NFL weight room and special-teams system rather than a rookie free agent just entering the building.
Kiser, who turned 24 this offseason, becomes the second linebacker the Bengals have added via the waiver wire in recent weeks as the team tightens its roster management ahead of the Week 6 stretch.
