Seahawks Open Rookie RB Jadarian Price's Practice Window Ahead of Monday Night vs. Bears
Seattle's rookie back has been out since Week 4 with a chest injury, and the move starts a 21-day clock to get him back on the active roster
The Seahawks designated rookie running back Jadarian Price to return to practice from injured reserve on Thursday, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported.
Price has been sidelined since Week 4 with a chest injury and has missed four games. The designation opens a 21-day window for Seattle to activate him. If he isn't added to the 53-man roster by the end of it, he would revert to injured reserve for the rest of the season.
The move wasn't a surprise. Coach Mike Macdonald said earlier this week that Price would get his window opened, and he indicated the rookie's situation is different from the injury Zach Charbonnet dealt with. Practicing doesn't guarantee Price plays right away, though, and Seattle hasn't said whether he'll be available for Monday night's game against the Bears.

When he does come back, Price adds depth to a backfield that has been without him for a month. Charbonnet is expected to play Monday, so Seattle doesn't need to rush the rookie. That gives the Seahawks the option of easing him back in with a few practices before deciding when to activate him.
The timing also lines up with a busy week for Seattle's offense. The Seahawks just acquired Quenton Nelson from the Colts for a 2027 third-round pick, and he's set to take over at left guard. Getting healthier at running back right as the line gets stronger is a good combination for a team trying to establish the run.
Monday's game against Chicago kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET.
