Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet): #Vikings RB Jordan Mason has been designated for return. His practice window opens, though he's still on IR.
Ian Rapoport reports that the Minnesota Vikings have designated running back Jordan Mason for return from injured reserve, opening his 21-day practice window. Mason has been sidelined since Week 1 with a fractured thumb.
In his second season with the Vikings, Mason took 15 carries for 59 yards and a touchdown in the season-opening win over the Packers before the injury. Last year he rushed for 758 yards and six touchdowns in 16 games with five starts.
Mason could potentially be activated as soon as this week, giving the Vikings another option alongside their lead backfield. Minnesota sits at 3-2 and faces the Colts in Week 7.
