Sam Darnold's season opener lasted all of five snaps. The Seahawks quarterback went into the injury tent and then to the locker room with a leg/hip issue on the opening drive of the season, and Drew Lock took over under center while Darnold was evaluated.

Darnold initially hobbled off the field but waved off the training staff before he started limping worse and went into the blue tent for furtherr testing before heading to the locker room. The club then made it official: Darnold is questionable to return with a hip injury, leaving his night — and the rest of this week — up in the air while tests and evaluation continue.

Lock, the veteran backup, runs the offense from here if Darnold can't go back in, and the emergency fallback behind him is Jalen Milroe, who was inactive tonight as the designated emergency third quarterback.

The severity of the hip injury, and whether Seattle faces a multi-week quarterback question are all unknown. More info is coming as the Seahawks update his status — this post will be followed by a full update the moment there is a new stage to report.
