Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty said Thursday that his ankle is feeling great and that he expects to play Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, the latest step in a recovery that has had him playing through pain for weeks. Raiders coach Klint Kubiak has already dismissed the idea of sitting him down.
Jeanty, who has been battling ankle and foot injuries, said this is the best he has felt during his recovery and that he is ready to go as long as the training staff clears him. The Raiders have been managing his workload while continuing to play him through the pain, per The Athletic's Sam Warren, who reported Jeanty's comments after his Thursday media availability.

Keeping Jeanty on the field has been a priority for Las Vegas, which has leaned on him as a featured piece of the backfield even at less than full health. His own words Thursday suggest the ankle is in a good place going into a matchup where the Raiders need production on the ground.
Sunday's game at Buffalo is a chance for Jeanty to show the full version of his game if the ankle cooperates, with Las Vegas' commitment to the ground game an interesting subplot for Week 6. He said he is ready to go as long as the training staff clears him.
