The Patriots' Week 1 injury picture came into sharper focus Monday: backup center/guard Ben Brown was downgraded to out with a knee injury and did not travel with the team, while running back TreVeyon Henderson did travel with team.

Brown hurt his knee in the first preseason game on Aug. 13 and never got back to practice. With him out, veteran Greg Van Roten projects to that backup interior role for Wednesday night's opener against the Seahawks. Henderson, who has been sidelined with an ankle injury since Aug. 24, avoided a downgrade on the travel-day report, per Reiss.

New England ran a "Friday"-style practice Monday before heading west — the club's usual day-before-travel rhythm on a short week. Henderson and Brown weren't spotted during stretching, per Evan Lazar, but defensive tackle Christian Barmore (knee) returned to practice. The final injury report won't be released until Tuesday afternoon, leaving Henderson's official game status open until then. If Henderson can't go, Rhamondre Stevenson would carry the load against Seattle, with Corey Kiner next in line.
