The New England Patriots made a series of roster moves on Saturday, placing two veteran players on injured reserve while adding a defensive back to the active roster.
Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter): A double whammy: the Patriots placed FB Reggie Gilliam and WR Mack Hollins on injured reserve.
Fullback Reggie Gilliam and wide receiver Mack Hollins were both placed on IR, sidelining each for at least four games. Gilliam, who signed with New England this offseason, has served primarily as a lead blocker and special teams contributor, appearing in all four games this season. Hollins, a veteran deep threat, has seven catches for 89 yards and a touchdown as a rotational receiver.
In a corresponding move, the Patriots activated safety Brenden Schooler from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Schooler, primarily a special teams ace, has appeared in 42 games for New England since signing as an undrafted free agent in 2022.
The Patriots (2-2) are preparing for Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
