The NFL's commissioner isn't going anywhere. NFL teams were notified Sunday that Roger Goodell has finalized a new four-season extension that runs through the 2030 league season, with the contract expiring March 31, 2031, per Adam Schefter.

The extension pushes Goodell's tenure into record territory. The deal will keep him as commissioner through age 72 and take his tenure to 24 years.
Goodell has held the job since 2006, steering the league through two decades of expansion, labor agreements and the sport's biggest media rights deals. The new deal removes any question about the league's leadership beyond the next collective bargaining cycle — Goodell will now preside over the NFL through the remainder of this decade and into the start of the next one. The notification to teams came Sunday as the league prepares to kick off its regular season.
