UPDATE: According to Rich Cimini "he'll be just fine".

New York Jets running back Chip Trayanum was transported to a hospital during the team's preseason finale on Friday night after suffering a neck injury, the club said.

Schefter reported that Trayanum is awake, alert and has movement of his extremities — an encouraging early signal after a frightening scene on the field. The Jets did not immediately disclose the mechanism of the injury or how many snaps he had logged before exiting.

The 24-year-old Trayanum entered the summer battling for a depth role behind Breece Hall, who remains the clear lead back in the New York backfield. Trayanum spent time on the Jets' practice squad as an undrafted rookie in 2025 after a college path that included stops at Arizona State and Ohio State, where he was part of a national championship roster.
